Foreign Affairs Minister Announces New Canada-India Innovation Strategy – February 28, 2026

In Mumbai, India, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand marks the launch of the Canada-India Talent and Innovation Strategy. This new bilateral relationship aims to facilitate research projects, student exchanges, and the development of AI centres of excellence between the two countries. The minister is joined at the press conference by Gabiel Miller, president and CEO of Universities Canada, Jayant Chaudhary, union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship, and Pari Johnston, president and CEO of Colleges & Institutes Canada. Anand is accompanying Prime Minister Mark Carney to India on an official visit.
