MPs comment on Canada’s GDP numbers, PM Carney’s trip to India – February 27, 2026

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Conservative MP Sandra Cobena comments on Statistics Canada’s recent report that showed Canada’s GDP shrank in the fourth quarter by 0.6 per cent.

NDP Alexandre Boulerice faces questions on Prime Minister Mark Carney’s trade mission to India, as the federal government continues its efforts to reset the bilateral relationship with New Delhi. Ahead of the prime minister’s trip, a senior government official stated that India had ceased foreign interference and transnational repression campaigns in Canada.
