Le président américain Donald Trump a annoncé samedi son intention d’imposer de nouveaux droits de douane mondiaux et temporaires de 15 %, une hausse par rapport aux 10 % évoqués la veille. Cette annonce survient au lendemain d’une décision très attendue de la Cour suprême des États-Unis, qui a invalidé une grande partie des tarifs imposés au cours de la dernière année en vertu d’une loi réservée aux situations d’urgence nationale. Loin de reculer, Donald Trump choisit plutôt de relancer son offensive tarifaire, illustrant une fois de plus l’imprévisibilité de sa stratégie commerciale.
