Statement from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre on Lunar New Year

Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Lunar New Year:

“Today, millions of Canadians and billions around the world will celebrate the new lunar year: welcoming the Year of the Horse with gratitude, light and hope. Together with friends and family, customs passed down from time immemorial will unite the generations. 

“These colourful and heartening traditions are striking reminders of the contributions that Canadians of Asian heritage have made: strengthening, growing and enriching our shared communities from coast to coast to coast.

“On behalf of all my colleagues, I want to wish all those celebrating a year filled with health, prosperity and good fortune.

“Happy Year of the Horse!”
