Alberta Premier Danielle Smith makes an education announcement – February 12, 2026

At a news conference in Calgary, Premier Danielle Smith announces her government’s next steps for addressing classroom complexity in Alberta.

She is joined by Demetrios Nicolaides, Alberta’s minister of education and childcare, Nicole Buchanan, the chair of Red Deer Public Schools, and Lynnette Anderson, the chief superintendent of Edmonton Catholic Schools.
