MPs comment on NDP MPP running for Liberals, Stephen Harper’s legacy

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.
Liberal MPs Yasir Naqvi, Jonathan Wilkinson, Rob Oliphant and Steven Guilbeault, and NDP MPs Jenny Kwan, Don Davies (the party’s interim leader) and Alexandre Boulerice face questions on a number of topics, including the decision of the Ontario NDP’s deputy leader Doly Begum to step down as an MPP and run for the federal Liberals in the riding of Scarborough Southwest in an upcoming byelection.

Former Conservative ministers Lisa Raitt, John Baird, and Gary Lunn, who are in Ottawa to attend the unveiling of Stephen Harper’s official portrait, give their thoughts on the legacy of the former prime minister. (February 3, 2026) (no interpretation)
