Manitoba supporting study of new marine conservation area in Hudson Bay – February 3, 2026

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew announces funding for a study on the feasibility of a new national marina conservation area along the Hudson Bay coast.

He is joined at the news conference in Churchill by Rebecca Chartrand, the federal minister of northern and Arctic affairs, Mike Moyes, Manitoba’s minister of environment and climate change, Darryl Wastesicoot, chief of York Factory First Nation, and Christopher Debicki, vice-president of policy and counsel at Oceans North.
