Le Canada a signé un contrat pour l’achat de 16 avions de chasse de dernière génération dans le cadre d’une entente plus vaste conclue en 2023, qui vise l’acquisition d’un total de 88 F-35. Mais, face aux attaques tarifaires et aux visées expansionnistes de l’administration Trump, le ministre de la Défense David McGuinty affirme que l’achat prévu des 72 appareils restants fait toujours l’objet d’un examen. Marc-André Cossette reçoit Yvan Blondin, lieutenant-général à la retraite, qui estime que l’achat des F-35 est nécessaire pour la défense nationale du Canada.
