Stephen Harper receives Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s gold medal – February 2, 2026

At a ceremony in Ottawa, former prime minister Stephen Harper receives a gold medal from the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) in recognition of his career in public service.

Following the ceremony, Harper and fellow former prime minister Jean Chrétien take part in a fireside chat on Canada and the world. The discussion is moderated by the RCGS’s president and CEO, John Geiger.
