Premiers speak with reporters ahead of meeting with PM Mark Carney – January 29, 2026

In Ottawa, provincial and territorial leaders take questions from reporters as they convene for a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney. They outline their priorities for the meeting, which is expected to focus in part on Canada’s upcoming discussions with the United States on the renewal of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Free Trade Agreement (CUSMA).

Speaking with reporters are premiers Scott Moe (Saskatchewan), David Eby (British Columbia), John Main (Nunavut), Wab Kinew (Manitoba), Susan Holt (New Brunswick), and Doug Ford (Ontario).
