Ministers discuss new trade alliance in Manitoba – January 19, 2026

At a news conference in Winnipeg, federal and Manitoba ministers discuss a new provincial trade alliance aimed at strengthening inland, air and Arctic corridors.

In attendance are Rebecca Chartrand (federal minister of northern and Arctic affairs) and Jamie Moses (Manitoba’s minister of business, mining, trade and job creation). They are joined by Chris Avery (president and CEO of the Arctic Gateway Group), Carly Edmundson (president and CEO of CentrePort Canada Inc.), and Nick Hays (president and CEO of the Winnipeg Airports Authority).
