Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Armenian Christmas:

“Today, the heirs of the first Christian kingdom mark the birth and baptism of Christ.

“For millennia, Armenians have drawn inspiration from faith and traditions which sustained them through good times and bad.

“This year, countless Armenian families mark Christmas far from their ancestral homelands in Nagorno-Karabakh, or in countries wracked by conflict and upheaval.

“For them, and for all those celebrating today, may this radiant holiday bring comfort, hope and peace.

“As we think of the incredible contributions that Canadians of Armenian heritage have made here on our shores, I want to wish this amazing and dynamic community a very merry Christmas.”
