The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) is pleased to announce its Power Rankings for Week 15.

The Beaver Valley Nitehawks closed out 2025 with a 5-1 win over the Nelson Leafs on Dec. 31. Brock Robertson (4) scored the winner with 29 seconds remaining in the first period, while Landan Uzeloc made 30 saves. Brady Walker scored twice and Michiel Leenders added three assists.
On Jan. 2, the Nitehawks erased a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Creston Valley Thunder Cats 3-2, with Brady Magarrell scoring the winner. Beaver Valley netted three goals in the first six minutes of the second period. They followed that up on Jan. 3 with a 4-1 win over Nelson after allowing the opening goal. Nathan Planger scored the power-play winner and Uzeloc stopped 19 shots. The Nitehawks are 23-6-0 and tied for first overall.

 

The Revelstoke Grizzlies ended 2025 with a 4-2 win over the Kamloops Storm on Dec. 31. Austin Seibel was solid making 39 saves and sealing the win with an empty-net goal with 42 seconds remaining. The Grizzlies led 3-0 before the Storm rallied, but Jett Patola’s power-play goal stood as the winner.
Revelstoke opened 2026 with a two-game set against the Princeton Posse. On Jan. 2, the Grizzlies earned a 7-4 win, overcoming two deficits with Jake Phillips-Watts scoring the game-winner. Seibel stopped 30 of 34 shots, Brennen Coutts scored twice, and Patola collected three assists. The Grizzlies dropped a 6-3 decision on Jan. 3 after the Posse erased a 3-0 lead. Phillips-Watts led Revelstoke with two points, while Patola scored his 13th goal. The Grizzlies are 20-5-0-2 and fourth overall.

The Fernie Ghostriders returned to action in 2026 for their Christmas Classic series against the Kimberley Dynamiters, drawing a combined crowd of 2,874 (1,734 in Kimberley and 1,140 in Fernie). The Dynamiters took the opener 6-0 on Jan. 2. Kael Svenson allowed four goals on 20 shots in 31:40 before being relieved by Leo den Besten.
Den Besten started the second game on Jan. 3 and delivered a 33-save shutout in a 6-0 win. Brayden Vopat scored three minutes into the game for his first goal of the season, which proved to be the winner. The Ghostriders are now 15-10-3-2 and eighth overall.

Like the Ghostriders, the Kimberley Dynamiters began 2026 with the Christmas Classic against their division rival. They earned a 6-0 win in the opener, with Nate Tillmanns scoring the winner at 7:41 of the first period in his 100th career KIJHL game. Adam Kisilevich recorded his second shutout with a 16-save performance.
In the second game on Jan. 3, a 5-0 loss, Kisilevich stopped 25 of 29 shots in 49:57 of action. The Dynamiters are 21-6-2-1 and third overall.

The Kamloops Storm closed out 2025 with a 4-2 loss to the Grizzlies. Luca D’Amore led the Storm with two points, while Brenner Fyfe made 46 saves. Kamloops also fell 4-1 to the Quesnel River Rush on Jan. 2, with Fyfe stopping 28 shots.
On Jan. 3, the Storm earned their first win of 2026, defeating the Kelowna Chiefs 5-2. Hayden Selin scored the winner late in the second period, while Fyfe was excellent again, turning aside 45 shots. D’Amore led the offence with two goals (22). The Storm are 22-6-1-1 and sit second overall, tied with Beaver Valley at 46 points.
