Banque du Canada : Pourquoi le taux directeur reste-t-il à 2,25%

Après deux baisses successives, la Banque du Canada maintient son taux directeur à 2,25 %. Elle juge que ce niveau est « essentiellement approprié pour maintenir l’inflation près de 2 % tout en aidant l’économie à traverser cette période d’ajustement structurel ». Benoit Durocher, directeur et économiste principal chez Desjardins, explique que cette stabilité est en grande partie attribuable aux exemptions que les États-Unis ont accordées au Canada dans l’application de leurs tarifs.
