The Conservative motion supporting a pipeline from Alberta to the B.C. north coast went down to defeat today, despite several amendments at the end that took their motion closer to the MOU Ottawa negotiated with Alberta. Stephanie Taylor, parliamentary reporter with the National Post, and Alex Ballingall, deputy Ottawa Bureau chief for the Toronto Star, dive in why the Conservatives went forward with this motion and why the Liberals opposed it, despite its similarities with the MOU.
