“I Couldn’t Look at Myself in the Mirror”: 2 Climate Advisors Quit Govt’s Net-Zero Advisory Body

Two climate advisors resigned from the federal government’s Net-Zero Advisory Body, whose goal is to identify pathways to help Canada achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Catherine Abreu, director of the International Climate Politics Hub, and Simon Donner, professor at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability at the University of British Columbia, explain that their resignation is based on the government’s rollback on climate policies and its investments in new fossil fuel infrastructures.
