Russia-Ukraine Conflict: “Canada can Lead the Way in Many Senses” – Former Ukrainian Ambassador

Talks on the war in Ukraine continue: United States envoys went to Moscow earlier this week to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian officials will be in Miami for talks today. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has stressed that maintaining Ukraine’s sovereignty and having security guarantees are his priorities. CPAC’s Michael Serapio interviewed Andriy Shevchenko, former Ukrainian ambassador to Canada, at the Halifax International Security Forum, as an initial peace plan was put forward in late November. Shevchenko suggests that Canada can lead the way in an international coalition by using sanctions to pressure Russia to bring an end to the war.
