MPs comment on Chrétien committee summons, intimate partner violence bill – December 3, 2025

MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the daily question period in the House of Commons.

Jobs and Families Minister Patty Hajdu faces questions on Air Transat’s pilots voting to strike beginning on December 10.

NDP interim leader Don Davies and Liberal MPs Stéphane Lauzon and Peter Schiefke comment on former prime minister Jean Chrétien being summoned to testify before a House of Commons committee, the Bloc’s call to eliminate the religious exemption for hate speech, and reports that Tim Hortons has been calling on the federal government to lift the cap on temporary foreign workers.

Conservative MP Frank Caputo comments on his private members bill on improving the legal response to instances of intimate partner violence. He is joined by family members of Bailey McCourt, who was killed by her estranged husband in 2024.
