Union responds to 1000 layoffs at Algoma Steel

Algoma Steel laid off 1000 workers in Sault Ste. Marie. Marty Warren, National Director for Canada with the United Steelworkers, believes the $ 500 million Algoma Steel got from a financing deal with Ottawa in November should have been tied to workforce guarantees.
