1000 licenciements chez Algoma Steel : « Une journée très triste » – Maire de Sault Ste. Marie

Les employés de l’usine Algoma Steel, à Sault-Sainte-Marie en Ontario, sont encore sous le choc après avoir appris que l’entreprise prévoit de licencier plus de 1000 travailleurs dès mars prochain. Dans un communiqué, le PDG d’Algoma Steel a indiqué que cette réduction des effectifs découle de l’imposition d’un tarif douanier de 50 % par les États-Unis. Le maire de Sault-Sainte-Marie, Matthew Shoemaker, raconte à Marc-André Cossette comment il a accueilli cette annonce.
