Liberals comment on expected Alberta-Ottawa energy deal – November 26, 2025

Ministers François-Philippe Champagne (finance) and Steven MacKinnon (government House leader), as well as MPs Ben Carr, Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Corey Hogan, James Maloney, Marc Miller, Wade Grant, Parm Bains, Sukh Dhaliwal Stéphane Lauzon and Jean-Yves Duclos comment on the forthcoming memorandum of understanding on energy between Alberta and the federal government, which may include special exemptions for a new bitumen pipeline from that province to the north coast of British Columbia.

Minister Anita Anand (foreign affairs) responds to questions on concerns surrounding the exporting of arms to the Middle East and other conflict zones. She also comments on Prime Minister Mark Carney’s recent statement about Canada not having a feminist foreign policy and on ongoing support for Ukraine in its war against Russia.
