Des responsables de la défense nationale et des leaders de l’industrie du monde entier se réunissent à Halifax en fin de semaine pour le 17ᵉ Forum annuel sur la sécurité internationale. Au même moment, le chef d’état-major français met en garde les Français, dans une allocution prononcée lors du congrès des maires de France, contre une possible guerre avec la Russie. En entrevue avec Marc-André Cossette, la cheffe d’état-major de la Défense, la générale Jennie Carignan, affirme qu’il faut en effet se préparer à une éventuelle confrontation.
