La famille royale suédoise est arrivée à Ottawa pour une visite d’État de trois jours, accompagnée d’une délégation de ministres et de représentants d’entreprises suédoises. La délégation se rendra ensuite aux installations de Bombardier à Montréal pour souligner l’intérêt du constructeur à collaborer avec Saab pour la production au Canada des avions de chasse Gripen. Yvan Blondin, lieutenant-général à la retraite et ancien commandant de l’Aviation royale canadienne, s’oppose à l’achat de ces appareils.
