The Conservatives introduced a sub-amendment to the budget today in the House of Commons asking for the deficit to be limited to $42 billion. The motion failed to pass as the NDP and the Bloc Québécois voted against it with the Liberals. But there are more budget votes to come, and the Green Party leader says she won’t be supporting the government unless there are changes. Elizabeth May says she will support the budget only if there are more robust measures to fight climate change.
