Liberals on Chris d’Entremont joining their caucus, federal budget – November 5, 2025

Ministers and Liberal MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal party holds its weekly caucus meeting.

Ministers Steven MacKinnon (government House leader), Mélanie Joly (industry), Anita Anand (foreign affairs), Sean Fraser (justice) as well as MPs James Maloney, Marc Miller, Jean-Yves Duclos, Carlos Leitão, Natilien Joseph, Kody Blois, Peter Fragiskatos and Greg Fergus face questions on MP Chris d’Entremont’s decision to leave the Conservative party and join their caucus.

Minister Steven Guilbeault (Canadian identity and culture), in addition to MPs Charles Sousa, Leitão, Fergus and Fragiskatos comment on spending measures included in yesterday’s federal budget.
