Coupes dans la fonction publique: La population sera affectée, averti le syndicat

À la suite du dépôt de son premier budget, le gouvernement Carney sort la tronçonneuse afin de réduire la taille de la fonction publique. En effet, Ottawa prévoit retrancher l’équivalent de 16 000 postes à temps plein d’ici trois ans, afin de ramener les effectifs à environ 40 000 employés de moins que le sommet atteint en 2024. En entrevue avec Marc-André Cossette, Larry Rousseau, vice-président exécutif du Congrès du travail du Canada, prévient que cette réduction se traduira inévitablement par une détérioration des services offerts à la population.
