First annual raising of Poppy Flag on Parliament Hill – October 31, 2025

On Parliament Hill in Ottawa, a ceremony is held for the first annual raising of the Poppy Flag in support of Canadian veterans.

Speaking at the event are Jill McKnight (minister of veterans affairs), Randy Haley (national executive director of the Royal Canadian Legion), and MPs Tim Louis (Liberal), Jeff Kibble (Conservative), and Gord Johns (NDP).
