Alberta Teachers’ Association on back to work order

In Alberta, the UCP government invoked the notwithstanding clause over a back to work order that ends a teachers’ strike that has been going on for 22 days. The teachers association cannot challenge the order in court due to the clause. Jason Schilling, the president of the Alberta Teachers’ Association, believes that the government could have negotiated a settlement.
