October 27, 2025 at 3:53 pm  Education, Kamloops, News

The TRUSU Equity Committee is excited to host equity training on “Foundations of 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusivity”.

This free session designed for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of queer and trans inclusivity, advocacy and allyship.

This training will be facilitated by experts from Qmunity—a leading organization supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities across Canada.

In this session, participants will explore the fundamentals of 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusivity focusing on:

  • Inclusive language skills to confidently discuss gender, sexuality and identity.
  • Historical awareness of 2SLGBTQIA+ contributions and systemic challenges in Canada and globally.
  • Intersectional perspectives on how race, disability, class and other identities shape queer experiences.
  • Actionable allyship strategies to combat microaggressions and advocate in workplaces, schools and daily life.

In a world where queer and trans identities still face erasure and discrimination, education drives change.
