Trump ends trade talks with Canada: “We’ve been there before”, reassures former Canadian diplomat

U.S. President Donald Trump terminated trade talks with Canada yesterday in reaction to an Ontario government ad that has been running in the U.S. featuring former President Ronald Reagan warning about the danger of tariffs. Louise Blais, senior strategic advisor on international affairs and former Canadian ambassador to the U.N., reassures that Canada has been in this situation before and is confident that negotiations will eventually resume.
