Ce soir, les cinq candidats à la direction du NPD fédéral se sont présentés pour la première fois devant des membres du parti. Rappellons que sous la direction de Jagmeet Singh, le parti a connu sa pire défaite électorale à ce jour lors des élections d’avril, ne remportant que sept sièges à la Chambre des communes. Le NPD est donc à la recherche non seulement d’un nouveau chef, mais aussi d’une nouvelle raison d’être. Les panélistes Matthew Dubé, ancien député néo-démocrate de Beloeil–Chambly (2011‑2019), et Mélanie Richer, ancienne directrice des communications et des médias pour le parti, analysent la crise identitaire que traverse le NPD.
