Proposed legislation to amend the Criminal Code is expected to be introduced in the House of Commons next week. The government also says it will invest in increased federal policing capacity in the upcoming federal budget. Also taking part in this announcement are John Zerucelli, the secretary of state for labour, Ruby Sahota, the secretary of state for combatting crime, and Mike Duheme, the commissioner of the RCMP.
