Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released the following statement on Thanksgiving:

“As Canadians gather from coast to coast to coast to express our gratitude, we reflect on our blessings and honour the traditions that unite us as a people.

“Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate the abundance of the harvest and the riches of the earth. We are blessed to live in a country of stunning natural beauty and bountiful resources that have the potential to bring tremendous prosperity for our people.

“Across our common home, families and friends will gather around the table to enjoy festive meals. For some, it’s a chance to watch the Blue Jays take the field. For others, it’s an opportunity to admire the splendid colours of the Canadian fall. And, of course, it’s a time to think of all those who will not have the chance to celebrate with their loved ones.

“After a decade of Liberal misrule, times are hard for many families. That’s why Conservatives will continue to fight to restore the promise of a Canada where hard work pays again. A country where everyone who works hard can buy nutritious food – from a fresh Thanksgiving turkey to delicious pumpkin pie – in an affordable home on a safe street.

“On behalf of all my colleagues, I want to wish everyone a very wonderful Thanksgiving!”
