Le Premier ministre Mark Carney aurait invoqué le projet de pipeline Keystone XL lors de sa dernière rencontre avec le président des États-Unis Donald Trump, selon Radio-Canada. Pour Yvan Cliche, spécialiste en énergie au Centre d’études et de recherches internationales de l’Université de Montréal, cette proposition du Canada se fait dans le cadre des négociations tarifaires avec les États-Unis.
