La délégation canadienne a quitté Washington aujourd’hui sans être parvenue à conclure un accord commercial. Hier, le secrétaire au commerce des États-Unis, Howard Lutnick, a même affirmé qu’un éventuel accord avec le Canada inclurait nécessairement des tarifs. Que faut-il donc retenir de cette rencontre bilatérale ? Louise Blais, ancienne ambassadrice et représentante permanente adjointe du Canada à l’ONU (2017-2021), y voit malgré tout plusieurs points positifs. Elle en discute avec Marc-André Cossette sur le plateau de L’Essentiel.
