Libération sous caution: Devrait-on resserrer les conditions?

Un projet de loi visant à resserrer les conditions de libération sous caution sera présenté à la Chambre des communes, a annoncé le ministre fédéral de la Justice, Sean Fraser. Cette initiative survient alors que près de huit Canadiens sur dix estiment qu’il est trop facile pour les personnes accusées de crimes graves d’obtenir une remise en liberté, selon un sondage d’Abacus Data publié aujourd’hui. Marc-André Cossette s’entretient avec Irwin Waller, professeur émérite à l’Université d’Ottawa, et Sam Puchala, avocate en droit criminel chez Velox Professional Law, sur la nécessité et la portée d’une telle réforme.
