Immigration Minister Unable to Provide Answers on Liberal Immigration Bill

Ottawa, ON – A decade of reckless Liberal policies broke Canada’s once-envied immigration system. Now, Carney’s Immigration Minister  Lena Diab is attempting to ram through another bill that will continue the Liberals’ radical open-borders agenda that has made a mockery of Canadian citizenship.

The most reliable projections available from the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) say the new Liberal chain migration Bill, C-3, will add at least 115,000 new people to Canada’s population in just 5 years.

Despite being asked the most basic questions, the Minister was unable to answer how the government will accommodate increased demand on housing, health care and the job market, and how the safety and security of Canadians will be prioritized.

Let’s expose the Liberal Minister’s non-answers and the costly impacts it has on Canadians:

Where are they going to live?

The Liberal Minister could not provide an answer. The reality is, Canada’s housing agency says housing starts are down 16% this year and are projected to decline further. Liberals have failed to build housing to accommodate their out-of-control immigration policies.

How much longer will ER wait times get?

The Liberal Minister had no answer, or even a plan to build out healthcare infrastructure. Meanwhile, more than 1,250,000 Canadians left emergency rooms without having been treated in 2024, an alarming increase of 35.54 per cent over a five year period.

Where are they going to work?

The Liberal Minister provided no answer as to where these newcomers will work, leaving Canadians to assume that the Liberals will continue to allow Temporary Foreign Workers to work in retail and restaurants while youth unemployment is at its highest in almost 30 years and long-term unemployment is at its highest since February 1998, outside of the pandemic.

How will the government combat immigration fraud if they don’t know who is  entering and leaving Canada?

The Liberal Minister dismissed this question as “ridiculous”.

The Minister could not even assure Canadians that terrorists and violent criminals would be kept out of our country under the new Liberal bill.

This level of incompetence is truly astounding. Trust in Canada’s immigration system is earned, not given. After years of Liberal failures that have made a mockery of Canadian citizenship, Conservatives will continue to fight for answers and accountability – restoring fairness to a system in which all Canadians should take pride.
