Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, released the following statement on Yom Kippur:

“Tonight, Jewish Canadians mark the start of Yom Kippur: the holiest day in their calendar. For communities gathering in homes and synagogues, worship and renewal is alive from coast to coast to coast.

“On Yom Kippur, Jewish Canadians take time to reflect on their lives, ask for forgiveness, give thanks and commit to the future.

“Jewish Canadians have faced increasing threats to their safety in Canada over recent years, and Conservatives are committed to defending the freedom of worship and ensuring the safety and security of all Canadians.

G’mar chatima tova – may you be inscribed in the book of life.”
