Coalition calls on federal government to build renewable east-west power grid – September 23, 2025

At a news conference in Ottawa, an alliance of organizations call on the federal government to build an east-west electricity grid powered by renewable energy.

Speaking with reporters are Stephen Thomas (David Suzuki Foundation), Melina Laboucan-Massimo (Sacred Earth), Brandon Dyck (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), Helen Hsu (Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment), and Zoe Grams (Elbows Up for Climate).
