Health advocates call for progress on feds’ pharmacare deals with provinces – September 22, 2025

At a news conference in Ottawa, patient groups and public health advocates call on the Liberal government to make progress on its pharmacare negotiations with provinces and territories.

Speaking with reporters are Jason MacLean (chair of the Canadian Health Coalition), Siobhán Vipond (executive vice-president of the Canadian Labour Congress), Angela Preocanin (secretary treasurer of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions), Frédérique Chabot (executive director of Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights), Manuel Arango (vice-president of policy and advocacy at the Heart and Stroke Foundation), Olivier Surprenant (analyste en politiques publiques, la Coalition solidarité santé & Union des consommateurs).
