Michael Serapio continues the conversation on Canada’s recognition of Palestine with Jon Allen, who served as Canada’s Ambassador to Israel from 2006 to 2010. Now a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Canadian International Council and Senior Fellow at the Bill Graham Centre for Contemporary International History, Allen offers his perspective on what message Ottawa is sending with this move, the risks of rewarding Hamas, and how the effort can succeed without U.S. support.
