Canadian activists hold a news conference on Gaza – September 16, 2025

A group of activists holds a news conference in Ottawa to discuss the situation in Gaza. The group is issuing several demands to the federal government, including the imposition of sanctions on Israel.

Speaking with reporters are Rhys Maddigan (member of Palestine Action YYT), Ibrahim Younis (member of Prince Edward Island for Palestine), Najlaa Zaanin (member of Gazan Canadian League in Halifax), Jeff Houlahan (member of the Canadian delegation on the Global March To Gaza and an organizer of the March To Ottawa), and Baya El Hachemi (member of Palestine Vivra in Montreal), as well as NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice.
