Northern premiers comment ahead of first ministers’ meeting – July 22, 2025

The leaders of Canada’s territories speak with reporters in Huntsville, Ont., ahead of a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney and other premiers. The gathering takes place at the Council of the Federation’s three-day summit, which concludes on Wednesday.

Speaking with reporters are Northwest Territories Premier R.J. Simpson, Nunavut Premier P.J. Akeeagok, and Yukon’s recently sworn-in premier, Mike Pemberton.
