PM Mark Carney speaks with media after major projects bill passes in House – June 20, 2025

Prime Minister Mark Carney holds a news conference on Parliament Hill in Ottawa following the passage through the House of Commons of C-5, the government’s internal trade, labour mobility, and major projects bill. He is joined by Mandy Gull-Masty, the minister of Indigenous services, and members of the Liberal caucus. In his remarks and responding to questions from reporters, the prime minister discusses the role of consultations and partnerships with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis in the development of major projects.
