Donald Trump a décidé d’envoyer la Garde nationale à Los Angeles en réaction aux émeutes qui s’y déroulent, sans que Gavin Newsom, le gouverneur de la Californie, ne l’ait demandé. Se dirige-t-on vers un état autoritaire aux États-Unis? Charles-Philippe David, professeur et fondateur de l’Observatoire sur les États-Unis de la Chaire Raoul-Dandurand de l’UQAM, croit que le président Donald Trump « entend exercer tous les pouvoirs auxquels il estime avoir droit et qu’il peut acquérir pour devenir un président fort » affirme-t-il à notre animatrice Catherine Lafrance.
