Prime Minister Mark Carney, ministers and Liberal MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal party holds its weekly caucus meeting. PM Carney, ministers François-Philippe Champagne (finance), Joël Lightbound (government transformation, public works and procurement), as well as MPs Chris Bittle, Peter Fragiskatos, Terry Sheehan and Ryan Turnbull face questions on the Trump administration’s decision to hike global tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25 to 50 per cent.

Gary Anandasangaree (public safety) and Fragiskatos discuss the government’s recently-tabled border security bill.

Steven MacKinnon (government House leader) responds to questions on the upcoming vote in the House of Commons on the government’s Speech from the Throne. He is also questioned about the return of committee work.

Sean Fraser (justice) discusses statements he made yesterday regarding the federal government’s obligation to consult with Indigenous leaders when it comes to the development of major national projects.

Steven Guilbeault (Canadian identity and culture) and MP Sophie Chatel face questions on the possibility of a pipeline being built that runs through Quebec.
