Premiers comment on nation-building projects, national unity – June 2, 2025

Canada’s first ministers face questions from the media ahead of their meeting in Saskatoon, discussing the importance of nation-building projects such as energy corridors and pipelines, and the state of national unity in the country.

Speaking with reporters are premiers Doug Ford (Ontario), Danielle Smith (Alberta), François Legault (Quebec), Scott Moe (Saskatchewan), Wab Kinew (Manitoba), Susan Holt (New Brunswick), Rob Lantz (Price Edward Island), Ranj Pillai (Yukon), R.J. Simpson (Northwest Territories) and P.J. Akeeagok (Nunavut), as well as Niki Sharma, B.C.’s deputy premier.
