Can debate at House of Commons be elevated? Strategists panel – May 29, 2025

Since he arrived in politics, Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his desire to elevate debate in the House of Commons. Blows were, however, exchanged by both the Liberal and Conservative leaders on Wednesday, during the first Question Period of the new Parliament. Will it be possible to move away from the rowdier atmosphere of the previous Parliament? CPAC’s Michael Serapio asks the question to strategists Susan Smith (Liberal), Cole Hogan (Conservative) and George Soule (NDP).
