Delegation of U.S. senators holds a news conference in Ottawa – May 23, 2025

Five United States senators hold a news conference in Ottawa, where they are meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney and members of his cabinet. A release from the U.S. Senate foreign relations committee said the group would discuss the Canada-U.S. trading relationship, including the integrated supply chains in the automotive and defence sectors.

Speaking with reporters are Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), and Peter Welch (D-VT).
