Montréal, QC – The National Board of Directors of the Liberal Party of Canada announced today that the 2026 Liberal National Convention will be hosted in Montréal, Québec, from April 9–11, 2026.

“Following a successful election campaign that saw Mark Carney and our Liberal team earn the party’s largest vote share in nearly half a century and a strong mandate from Canadians, we are looking forward to welcoming Liberals from across the country in Montréal for the 2026 Liberal National Convention,” said Sachit Mehra, President of the Liberal Party of Canada. “It’s time to come together, to be bold, and to build – and this convention will be an important milestone to shape the future of our party, and our country.”

As Mark Carney and our Liberal team in Parliament deliver on our ambitious plan to build Canada strong, Montréal will offer an inspiring, dynamic setting to welcome thousands of Liberals from across the country for important policy discussions, featured guest speakers, training sessions, and the election of the next National Board of Directors.

While Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives double down on division, Liberals are focused on Canadians — delivering a middle class tax cut, creating jobs and protecting workers, and building the strongest economy in the G7.

Over the past few months, Canadians showed up to support our plan to build a stronger Canada, and the next Liberal National Convention will build on the party’s strong grassroots support. In the first quarter of 2025, the Liberal Party achieved the best quarter for grassroots fundraising in its history, thanks to a record number of individual donors. And just halfway through Q2, it has already become the party’s best-ever second quarter.

This convention will also build on the success of the 2023 Convention in Ottawa, which saw nearly 4,000 Canadians participate in the event, and thousands of supporters contribute online to our Open Policy Process in the lead up to the convention.

We’re excited to come together in Montréal, to chart the course ahead for the Liberal Party and for a stronger, more united Canada.
